THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS AT THE BUTCHART GARDENS
Christmas lights, holiday wreaths, carolers, ice skating, festive dining—it’s an exciting time at The Gardens. In fact, there’s so much happening from December 1st, 2018 through January 6th, 2019 we refer to it as the Magic of Christmas season.

MERRIDALE CHRISTMAS AT THE FARM
Looking for the magic of an old-fashioned Christmas? Come home to the farm this holiday season where we are offering a one-of-a-kind Christmas experience. From the moment you arrive at Merridale, you will be transported into a Christmas wonderland. With thousands of twinkle lights, decorations, festive food, holiday shopping, and entertainment – it’s truly a Christmas evening that won’t be forgotten!
We invite groups of any size to book seats for our long-table holiday dinners for $49 per person, including:
• An enchanting walk through our courtyard light-up, with thousands of twinkling lights, decorations, and displays.
• A screening of the 1966 Classic “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” on our outdoor covered deck.
• A farm-to-fork dinner served family-style at long tables.
• Cider, cocktails and holiday beverages can be purchased from the Tasting Bar throughout the evening.

ROYAL WINNIPEG BALLET – NUTCRACKER
Nutcracker Galina Yordanova and Nina Menon
Music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
Experience the magic of the traditional story of the Nutcracker with a little Canadiana thrown in. A snowy pond hockey game, a battle on Parliament Hill, Mounties, and a cast of Canadian critters make this production memorable. Performed to live music by the Victoria Symphony.

SKATE WITH SANTA
Come skate with Santa!! Santa will be skating during the Family Skate. Santa and will be playing games on the ice, such as “pass the parcel”, and handing out prizes!
There will be face painting and a craft station set up and many door prizes!

CHRISTMAS IN OLD TOWN
Take in the sights and sounds of Christmas long ago. Visit the wood-cobbled streets lined with festive garlands and see the shops decked in seasonal finery.

PHOTOS WITH SANTA AT THE HOTEL GRAND PACIFIC
Bring the whole family downtown to have your photo taken with Santa by donation! While you’re there, get into the holiday spirit by listening to carollers and treating yourself to hot chocolate and cookies in the hotel lobby. And don’t leave without picking up a coloring sheet! A holiday coloring contest for kids runs December 1 to 25. All proceeds support Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island.

After a resounding success in its first two years the Christmas Craft Beer Show is back for another round! The 3rd Annual Christmas Craft Beer Show will take place at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on November 30th & December 1st, 2018.
